When you apply for a Virgin Money current account, we need to check that the person applying is who they say they are, so we know we're processing an application for the right person, and to prevent money laundering. 

We'll ask you for proof of ID as part of your application to confirm your identity, your address and your immigration status (if you're a non-UK national). We’ll need a photo/photocopy of two documents (they can’t be the same document). You can upload your ID on our proof of ID section here

We may get back in touch with you if the ID you sent can’t be confirmed, so please make sure the photo/photocopy is clear and we can see the whole document. If you could check we’ve got the right contact details in case we need to reach you, that would be great.

You can check what documents we accept on our identification documents list. If you don’t have the required documents, we’ll be happy to speak to you in one of our branches to find out what you’re able to provide.

We cannot accept applications from outside of the UK.
